It covers some of the philosophy behind book buying, and includes a step-by-step guide to setting up accounts, negotiating terms and ordering stock. It includes all the mathematical equations that drive the successful running of a bookshop.

Olinka Nell

Olinka Nell is the GM of Procurement at Exclusive Books, the leading chain of general bookshops in South Africa. She started her career there in 1998 as a bookseller at the iconic Sunnypark branch in Pretoria, later opening the Tygervalley branch in Cape Town. This was followed by an 8-year stint as manager of the O.R. Tambo International branch. Olinka moved to Exclusive Books' head office in 2008 to head up the Product Department. She currently also serves as the General Trade Chairperson of the SA Bookseller's executive committee.
