To the readers of this blog, I sincerely hope you enjoy the content I write.

I have experienced many things in my life, personal, professional, tragic, scary, inspiring and more.   I am not someone with an excessively tragic past, dismal childhood, or an idyllic career. I believe I am relatively normal.  I have normal needs, likes expectations, love, family, business, wealth with a love for mountain biking and rock climbing.

I am currently over 40. For some, this is young, for others, it’s over the wall. In business, I have always been referred to as the youngster. For others I am old with experience, much like most things in life, Einstein had it right, it is all relative.

Some might say it is a somewhat egotistical title, but in all honesty, I have also learnt that many insights in life have been because I ended up pi..sed off and the result was egotistical and selfish. Due to this, I h

ave the advantage of seeing things differently than those around me. At least, I have the decency to return to normal again.

One thing is for certain, as a student and observer of life and people since my early 20’s I have jotted down all my philosophies, theories and observations. Perhaps only my children will benefit from this, but I do hope to find more than those few souls out there that share my views of life, love and excitement.

Just a short note on the order in the blogs, or, at least, the lack thereof…

I am a firm believer in the CHAOS theory. Though many people have never heard of it, some know it from a scientific point of view.  I have such a strong belief in it that I dedicated a fair number of posts to its explanation, and the influence I believe it has on us in all aspects of life.

However, that is not the reason for the jumbled way in which I wrote this blog.

This blog is a growth process of mind. I am personally very neat and hate things out of order. One thing I hate more is to forget. Therefore, these blogs reflect a direct learning curve as I learnt more about life and my philosophies became more advanced and thought through. Thank goodness for mobile devices and PDA’s. For those of you not in the technical fields, a PDA is a Personal Digital Assistant. I will use many TLA’s (Three Letter Abbreviations) in this book. For the most part, I have a strong technical background in the IT industry and we simply love using TLA’s on our PDA’s to confuse all the VIP’s who think they know the difference between a GUI and an OS on a PC with RAM and a big HDD…sounds like fun right?

Simply put, TLA’s are there to confuse the listener and to boost the ego of the already deprived technical guy…ouch.

As a final word, I hope this blog inspires, educates, teaches and overall gives a good laugh to the incredible things happening around us. I have been hugely fascinated by my life and although I may be young at heart, in my mind I have had the unique opportunity to experience extreme sorrow with the death of my mother.  Extreme joy from my wife and children.  Extreme excitement from my sport and above all, extreme insight into life through my various business dealings with many people, internationally and local.

And remember, rich people are not always right, older people are still learning, and the chances are your gut feeling is the way to go.
